Kids are naturally drawn to playing outside and there are numerous benefits of outdoor play: it allows them to explore their environment, develop muscle strength and coordination, and gain self-confidence. There are numerous health benefits to playing outside. With more room to play in, children are often more active when outside, which helps them to build strong bones and good fitness levels, while also enabling them to burn off extra energy and calories.
Physical activity makes a difference in children’s physical health and overall Child development. Encouraging children to develop an active lifestyle should be a priority shared by all. To help children be more active parents can :
o Be active role models.
o Provide lots of opportunity to be active (e.g., go for short walks instead of stroller rides, limit screen time).
o Provide safe environments where children can run, jump, climb, dance, etc.
